Within the email, include your name, OSIS #, and the reason why you cannot attend the mandatory meeting. 8:53 PM Unknown 0 Comments

Hey guys,
The following is a message from Alex Lee, the organizer of the Valentines for Veterans drive, and a brief description of the drive itself.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Hi everyone! My name is Alex Lee and I am working towards my Eagle Scout project, which is to help raise for the veterans of our nation. I am collecting toiletries (toothbrush, soap, lotion, etc.) and sundries (miscellaneous items, such as stamps, books, pens, pencils). Individual items such as toothbrushes, pens, pencils, etc must be in packs of at least 10. The drive will last from Tuesday, February 9th to Wednesday, February 10th, and the drop-off will be at Ms. Nottingham's office in 1W2. When donating, please place the items in a bag and put your name, OSIS, and club(s) that you are in.

- H.O.P.E. Members: You can gain a maximum of 15 points for bringing in five items.

- NHS Members: If you bring in at least three items, you can gain 10 NHS points. Six items, 20 points maximum!

Let's help show our veterans of our country that we commend their service for our nation!

Yours in Scouting,
Alex Lee

Valentine's Day Goodie Bags

11:15 PM Unknown 1 Comments

Hi Guys!! Valentine's Day is just around the corner! :)

As an effort to spread love throughout the Brooklyn Tech community, we are going to make goodie bags (purpose will be described more in depth when we send out a follow-up email regarding an upcoming fundraiser sometime later this week). But anyways, we are o’ Fish’ a-lly asking you guys to bring in goldfish crackers, rice krispies treats, since they are such a treat, and last but not least gummy bears, since our goodie bags would be un-BEAR-able without them.
We are accepting donations from Thursday, February 4, 2016 to Tuesday, February 9, 2016, BUT the location for drop-offs will be Mr. Lee's room (3E19) this time around. Please keep in mind that other than being our club advisor, he is also a TEACHER, so please be courteous, and do NOT disrupt his classes. You may bring in your donations AFTER 7th period has ended. Your cooperation is much appreciated.
Rules for bringing in donations still apply: Place the items in a plastic bag, along with a piece of paper that has your name, OSIS, and the word “H.O.P.E.” before placing your donations in the box.
ITEM TO POINT CONVERSION (PER BAG): (1) At least 5 oz of Gummy Bears = 5 POINTS (2) At least 6 oz of Goldfish Crackers = 5 POINTS (3) At least 8 oz of Rice Krispies Treats = 5 POINTS

THE MAXIMUM AMOUNT OF POINTS YOU CAN EARN IS 20!

The issue at hand is that over a million young people experience homelessness in the U.S. every year. One item they often ask for is a pair of jeans. You can help them by simply donating a pair of gently-used jeans!

Jean collection will begin Tuesday, February 2nd and end Friday, February 26th. Donations should be placed in a plastic bag with an index card that has your name, OSIS #, and the list of participating clubs that you're in. You can bring your donations to room 7C1.

The following is the list of participating clubs and their point systems:
- H.O.P.E. - 10 points per pair // 20 points maximum
- BETA - 5 points per pair // 20 points maximum
- BTHS Do Something - 10 points per pair // 40 points maximum
- Help the Homeless - 5 points per pair // 10 points maximum
- Key Club - 10 points per pair // 30 points maximum
- NHS - 5 points per pair // 20 points maximum
