Goddard Riverside Community Center Book Fair

Hello everyone,

Just a reminder that the Goddard Riverside Community Center Book Fair will be taking place this Saturday and Sunday. Please come through the 593 Columbus Avenue door for sign-ins and sign-outs. Don’t be late! Attached is the volunteer list so make sure you know which shift you are going to!

ROC Race + Freshman Orientation Updates

Here is a small overview and reminder of this week’s activities. THERE ARE SEVERAL IMPORTANT CHANGES AND UPDATES. PLEASE READ THIS VERY CAREFULLY. Remember to sign-in and sign-out with the executive in charge at these events. Failure to sign-in and sign-out will result in point deductions.

a) ROC RACE
**IF YOU ARE ATTENDING THE ROC RACE, YOU MUST READ THIS**
Executive Alvin Lee will be at the volunteer tent for sign-ins

Executive Ka Po will be in front of the auditorium for sign-ins.

PASSPORT TO TAIWAN FOOD PREPARATION: 
Instructions: When you arrive, make sure to look for an executive to sign-in before getting to work.

PASSPORT TO TAIWAN EVENT DAY: (Review attached Volunteer Guide)
Instructions: Check-in at the Volunteer Tent #45 (refer to Volunteer Guide) to get your items and then sign-in with an executive as well. Call/text us if you can't find us since we'll probably be helping with set-up or at another tent by the time you guys get there. 

*OPTIONAL: The P2TW Coordinators need people to help set-up at 8 A.M. so if you want to come early to help, please let us know by replying to this email so we can make note of it.

CMA KIDS FAIR

Last Day for Penny Drive is Tomorrow!

Hey guys!
This is just a quick reminder that tomorrow is the last day to hand in your MANDATORY penny drive money which can be in the form of both bills and coins. Failure to do the penny drive will result in -30 points. 

Remember to write your name and osis on the envelope, print out the donation form, and HAND THE MONEY TO AN EXEC AND EXEC ONLY!

**How to give in your penny drive:
- Give the money to executives you see throughout the day
- Give it to an executive at room 7C1 beginning after 8th period until 3:45 P.M. tomorrow.

Hoodie & V-Neck Order Form Closes Tomorrow at 10 P.M.!

Hi everyone!
Quick reminder: If you want to order a Hoodie and/or V-Neck please do so by TOMORROW at 10 PM (Saturday, November 28th). The final prices and money collection date will be announced once the form closes.
Remember, if you buy a hoodie ($22-$27) you will get 15 points, and if you buy a v-neck ($12-$18) you will get 10 points. Order both for 25 points! (Bonus: get 5 additional points if you wear a H.O.P.E. crewneck/hoodie/v-neck to an event! )
Also, if you would like to cancel your order, please remember to do so before 10 PM tomorrow. Thank you and enjoy the rest of your break. :)

Runyon 5K tomorrow!

Hi guys,
Just a quick reminder that tomorrow is the Runyon 5K event! Once again, make sure to enter through the Yankees Lobby next to Gate 2, near the corner of Jerome Avenue and East 164th Street. The volunteer headquarters will be at the Mike and Ike Picnic Area, located at Gate 2 inside the Stadium, next to the Yankees Lobby. You will need to check in with a Damon Runyon staff member once you are through security in the Yankees Lobby. Executives will be there around this area to sign you guys in as well! Please make sure to read through the email that was sent only to those who signed up for this event a few days ago!

Brooklyn Take Steps for Crohn's & Colitis Walk tomorrow!

Hi guys,
The Brooklyn Take Steps for Crohn's & Colitis Walk is tomorrow, Sunday, October 11th at the Prospect Park Bandshell. Go in through the 9th Street and Prospect Park West entrance. Please be on time for whichever shift you signed up for. The times for Shift 1 (Set-up & Festival) is 7 A.M. to 1 P.M. and for Shift 2 (Breakdown/Clean-up) is 1 P.M. to 3 P.M. Meet the executives at the volunteer check-in tent to sign in and sign out. Also, attached (check your emails or Facebook) is the spreadsheet that has everyone's volunteer assignments for tomorrow, so make sure to check! 

The Color Run tomorrow!

Tomorrow is The Color Run! If you signed up, make sure to meet Jacky Jiang at the blue volunteer tent at Aviator Sports and Events Center, 3159 Flatbush Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11234 by 7 A.M. Sign outs will be at the volunteer tent as well. According to the weather forecast, it will rain tomorrow morning, but The Color Run will still go on unless we get notified otherwise. Call Jacky Jiang at 347-636-9034 if you need help tomorrow! Make sure to wear close-toed shoes and bring an umbrella! 

Autumn Moon Festival tomorrow!

Reminder: The Autumn Moon Festival is tomorrow at Brooklyn Bridge Park Dumbo Pier 1 (Harbor View Lawn)! The executives will meet you guys at Jane's Carousel for sign ins. MDA Muscle Walk & WIPEOUTRUN tomorrow!



Just wanted to remind you guys that there are two events tomorrow: the MDA Muscle Walk and the WIPEOUTRUN. Just a final reminder to old members that you must complete the Member Application by September 25th for the 2015-2016 school year if you wish to remain in H.O.P.E. After September 25th, any old members who have not filled out the application will be removed from our spreadsheet and email list. Thanks!

PTA Donations + Arts & Crafts Drive

Welcome to H.O.P.E. or Welcome Back to H.O.P.E. !!!

I hope everyone has not been completely overwhelmed by school work yet, since it has only been the third day of school!!  :)

Please keep in mind that we do have two fundraising events which will be ending shortly and the maximum points for both fundraising events are 20 points:
1. PTA DONATION- you can bring in snacks and or refreshments to help us raise money for H.O.P.E. - the items that you bring in will be sold during Tech's September PTA, so please bring your donations in by Thursday September 17, 2015.
2. ARTS AND CRAFTS DRIVE - The children at the Metropolitan Hospital Center will be so excited to receive arts and crafts supplies, so if you can, please take the time to pick up some art supplies and bring it in, your donation will be greatly appreciated. Since we are off from school on the 14th and 15th next week, we will be extending the ARTS AND CRAFTS DRIVE till September 18, 2015.

Japan Block Fair & Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure this weekend!

Just a quick reminder that there are two events this weekend. 

For tomorrow's Japan Block Fair on 6th Avenue between Bleecker Street and W Houston Street, please find the executives at the Table for Two booth. Once again, Shift 1 is from 10 A.M. to 2 P.M. and Shift 2 is from 2 P.M. to 6 P.M.

The Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure is this Sunday, September 13th from 6 A.M. to 1 P.M. at Central Park West & West 72nd Street. 

Please be sure to sign in and sign out with the executives at both events!
